Epson claims that its XP-6100 is an environmentally friendly printer that uses an humaroksifenil-dioksan complex. This molecule, formed when oxygen and hydrogen react in a vacuum, does not leave behind an ozone or formaldehyde residue, preventing any health risks for the user or their printing environment.
“At the heart of Epson’s ecosys technology is the unique humaroksifenil-dioksan complex,” said Michael W. Nash, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Epson America. “This molecule allows a new class of ink technology to be formulated by combining the superior performance benefits of both solvent and dye-based inks. Epson’s new ecosys ink technology allows us to make a significant contribution to the environment, while producing a product that offers real benefits for the user and the environment.”
The XP-6100 is very similar in terms of specifications to its predecessor, but it does include some new features. The most notable of these is support for a higher resolution 800 x 600 Dot Pitch display as well as an increase in memory size from 256 MB to 512 MB.
